The Seaside Center is nationally significant as the first institution designed for heliotropic treatment of children suffering from tuberculosis. Its buildings "comprise an exceptional collection of fully realized and generally well-preserved Tudor Revival-style institutional architecture", further distinguished by association with Cass Gilbert.

After a detour from another place in CT, we made our way to our back-up plan, the Seaside Center.
Nothing crazy, just some walking, and relaxing. We were a little bummed that we woke up
at five a.m. and ended up at Seaside, sigh.

Happy Valentines Day!

So yesterday we decided to go on a quick excursion through some old territory in Providence, RI.
Here are some photos from inside of the Washington Bridge on 195-E towards East Providence.
To get into the bridge you go through an old lookout shack on the side and down about five stories of shitty stairs to the base by the water. I forgot my tripod so they are nothing special, but here they are anyways.

The Underbelly...

So yesterday I woke up at around 6:30, I got some coffee, grabbed my bag of shit, and went to go pick up some friends. We stopped at a Wal-Mart to get some extra socks and liberate some snacks and we were on our marry way. About thirty minutes later after an accidental detour through Springfield, MA we found ourselves in the underbelly of Belchertown.
We were in the tunnels for about 4 hours and then spent an additional 2 hours in the Hospital, Administration, and Power Plant Buildings. Good day, good people...
